Butchers Choice

Butchers Choice

We are offering two Onglet Steak dinners and a bottle of House Wine for £30 everyday apart from Sunday. On Sunday you can have two roast beef dinners and a bottle of wine.

The Onglet steak used to be called the Butchers Choice as it was the cut the Butcher kept for his family. Our Butcher, the legendary Steve Morgan of Alexandra Palace Farmers Market fame cant eat all of the Onglet steaks his family farm produces and so we can offer them to you.

The family farm is in the Brecon Beacons where the Black Hereford Cattle graze on the sumptuous grasslands all year round.

Al Fresco Dining

Al fresco dining and drinking in the Garden

It’s lovely to eat al fresco. The phrase “Al fresco” is from the Italian, meaning “in the cool air”. The cool air being something the people of our isles embrace, which is not to say we don’t look forward to those warm summer nights and the excitement they bring.

This spring we have already had a few of those lovely warm nights that we crave so much. Nights where you can sit out with a glass of wine and chat with friends as the sun disappears over the horizon.

At The Alex we offer two areas for al fresco dining and drinking, our back garden with its quiet corners and fairy lights and our front terrace with it’s spectacular sunsets.

So please come and enjoy the warm evenings when they come, indulge in some al fresco fun at The Alex.
