Our food is an eclectic mix of traditional British, French and European.

We cant say much about our head chef Robert Pearce because he wont let us brag about him. Needless to say he is an outstanding vocational chef. Rob leads a similarly vocational kitchen brigade.
“I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.”

We make everything in-house, from the first piece of bread that you’re given when you sit down to the ice cream that tops off your meal .Our fish is delivered fresh every day sourced from day boats from the beautiful south east coast of England. Most meat is sourced from Morgans Butchers and farm in Brecon. If you are a visitor to Alexandra Palace Farmers Market you may well know Morgans as they are the main butcher there.

We also source our cheese from another Ally Pally Farmers Market favourite, Wildes Cheese, the Urban Cheese makers. Come and try their world bronze medal winning Alexandra cheese (named after the Princess and the Palace rather than this humble pub).

Sunday roasts are a speciality. If you like your roast with proper gravy and responsibly sourced meat then you can’t go wrong at The Alex.

In the summer we offer excellent al-fresco dining in our garden and decking. Hide away with your friends in a quiet corner of our garden or watch the sunset on our terrace.
